Bellwood travels to Huntingdon to take on the Bearcats Friday night. Both teams are coming into the game with an 0-2 record.
Bellwood suffered a rough loss last week to Westmont Hilltop, with the final score being 14-6. Huntingdon is coming off a loss to a rough opponent in Richland, who scored 35 points.
Huntingdon’s running offense is similar to Westmont Hilltop, but they are more spread out on the field. The Blue Devils’ defensive game plan shouldn’t change much from last week, as the Bearcats run the ball on almost 80% of their plays. Last week the Blue Devils allowed 168 rushing yards and hope to keep this number low against the ‘Cats.
“We plan to shut down the run, and make them pass on us,” said Chance Schreier.
Schreier and McCartney have played huge roles in the Devils’ offense so far this year. McCartney has more than 300 yards on the ground and Schreier is averaging 117 passing yards per game. They will look to continue this against a defense that has allowed 70 points in two games.
This is a great matchup for Bellwood who hopes to get their first win of the season.
