Bellwood-Antis athletes competed in day one of the District 6 Track and Field Championships yesterday at Mansion Park in Altoona, and both the Blue Devils and Lady Devils will be well represented today in the finals.
Four individuals and three relay teams advanced to competition today, which begins at 5. Four other athletes placed outright in the top 8.
Briley Campbell placed 6th in the 100m prelims and will compete today at 6:00.
In the 400, Avah Hassler placed 5th and will run tonight at 6:45.
Kole Dickinson took first place in the 300 hurdles prelims and 2nd in the 110 hurdles prelims. He will be running the 110 hurdles at 5:50 and the 300 hurdles at 7:00.
Chloe Stoltzfus placed 7th in both the 110 hurdles prelims and the 300 hurdles prelims, putting up a new PR in each. She will also be competing tonight at 5:50 and 7:00.
The girls 4×100 relay team with Chloe Stoltzfus, Avah Hassler, Chloe Hammond, and Briley Campbell took 5th place in prelims and will run again today at 6:30.
The boys 4×400 relay team also took 5th place in the prelims with Holden Schreier, Conner Bardell, Gabe Thompson, and Kole Dickinson. Julie Kraft, Kate Heisler, Marissa Cacciotti, and Avah Hassler placed 6th in the girls 4×400 relay. Both 4×400 relay teams will run at 9:00 tonight.
Chance Schreier placed 5th in the javelin finals with a new PR of 151-04.
Dalton Poorman cleared an even 13-00 in pole vault to secure a tied 4th place in the finals. Poorman will compete in the triple jump today.
Lily Gerwert and Addy Turek both cleared 4-10.00 in high jump for a tied 7th place in the finals.
First event of day 2 will start at 5:00 today at Mansion Park.
