This week’s BluePrint Athlete of the Week is senior Addy Turek.
Addy plays middle for the girls’ volleyball team. She currently leads the team in kills and is tied for first in blocks.
Addy has been key to the volleyball team’s success this season, which sees the Lady Devils 5-2 after picking up three wins this week.
Addy has played volleyball for four years with senior setter, Avah Hassler, who mentioned the chemistry the two have formed during their varsity careers.
“Addy has built chemistry through communication and trust. It has allowed us to understand each other and work more cohesively,” Hassler said.
Addy is coming off of a very strong junior season in which she was named to the Laurel Highlands Conference East Division all-stars second team. She is hoping to do even better in her final year. When asked what contributes to her success on the court, Addy said, “I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without the help from my teammates and coaches. My teammates are there to help me whenever I need, and my coaches have taught me how to play the game.”
Addy has a selfless attitude and is very grateful for her team and coaches.
Addy has been a major contributor for the Lady Devils strong start to the season. She is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the floor.
Addy looks to keep the ball rolling against Huntingdon, on Tuesday.
