Fall is right around the corner! And so is fall food season, with delicious pumpkin pie and creamy pumpkin spice lattes. But what would you say is the top fall food for this chilly season?
Coming up in first place we have pumpkin pie. I can see why this would be first. This pie, along with many others, is very popular during the spooky and Thanksgiving season. It comes from the most popular fall vegetable as well, pumpkin! Pumpkin pie was first created in 1650 in the 17th century when Chef Francois Pierre first made the recipe and called it: “Pompion Torte”. Me personally, I’m not the biggest pumpkin pie fan, but I can see how some can be.
Next, in second place, are Apples. With fall season also comes apple season, with all the tasty recipes that can be made by this one fruit – apple cider, apple pie, apple crisps, you name it. Apples definitely deserve their place up on the podium. I love them and I’m sure many more people do as well. Apples were first discovered a long time ago by some food gatherers in Central Asia, but people didn’t start making things with them until 1300 BC.
And last, but certainly not least, we have Turkey. Turkey could actually be at the top because it’s in a lot of our holiday meals and its super good and a great source of protein, but I can also see why some people w0uldn’t like it. However, this delicious, juicy bird definitely earned its place in the top 3. Turkey was served in the first Thanksgiving and will still be in it for many years to come.
Honorable Mention: Apple Cider
