The B-A girls volleyball team went to Penns Valley on Tuesday night. The Lady Blue Devils won in a 3-1 game. The game started off close, with each team getting a set win of their own. B-A took the first one, 25-15, and Penns Valley won the 2nd set, 25-13. B-A ended up winning the last two sets, with scores of 25-23 and 25-17.
Bellwood-Antis improves to 7-4 after this win, while Penns Valley drops to 1-7.
Seniors Johanna Heckman and Addy Turek both had impactful performances to help get the win. Turek had 17 kills, and Heckman had 14 kills and 8 digs.
“We were really focused on giving our best in the game,” Heckman said. “We wanted to make sure we were prepared mentally and physically to perform at our peak. It was all about staying positive and working together as a team to achieve our goals.”
Earlier, during this past weekend, there was a volleyball tournament hosted by Bellwood-Antis. The Lady Blue Devils ended up finishing in 2nd place after losing to Bald Eagle in the championship game.
B-A will go against Penn Cambria at home on Thursday for their next game. The game will start at 7.
