Dennis (DJ) Brown is a freshman at Bellwood-Antis who continues to take pride in drawing, specifically in Mrs. McNaul’s art classes.
DJ strives for perfection in his Art Appreciation and Ceramics/Painting classes, taught by Mrs. McNaul.
DJ is observed as a one of the artists who progress to ultimately make pieces with their creative mind.
“DJ is a beautiful drawer,” Mrs. McNaul says.
One of DJ’s skills is his ability to take what he sees and transfer it to a drawing, which is not easy
In Art Appreciation, DJ is currently moving forward with a project labeled as a still life. A still life is making a drawing with collected materials in front of you. The difficult part of this project is perfecting the point of view that you’re going to start from. But DJ has mastered that already.
His project includes a baseball, bat, and glove, which Mrs. McNaul says are “beautifully drawn and shaded well.” With this project DJ steps up in seeing shapes, angles and measurements.
“I can’t wait to see how he approaches his other projects this year,” Mrs. McNaul said.
Although DJ has doubled in art this year, he still continues to draw outside of class. He’s also continued to accomplish higher levels of art skills that prove his talent in in the field.
