Should phones be banned from school?
This question circles around Bellwood a lot. Kids nowadays are addicted to their phones because they helps them stay connected to everyone and keep in touch with their friends and family.
Although schools around the world are banning phones altogether, Bellwood is giving their students a little more freedom and allowing them to have their phones on them throughout the day.
That’s not the case everywhere. The Los Angeles School Board, which governs the second largest school district in the US, is taking action and banning cell phones completely during the school day.
This ban has spread across many schools and states in America and is inching closer towards Bellwood. Schools like Tyrone and Harrisburg have taken action against phones and banned them completely.
According to a new PA law, any schools that adopt an official policy on banning cellphones are granted $100,000, so this is urging more schools to take action towards the ban.
A lot of students are upset about this because there are some instances where parents might need to contact students during emergencies or other urgent situations.
Some students think this ban would improve their learning experience and help them learn more and pay attention in class.
What are your thoughts on cellphones being banned? Would you be upset or would you just accept it?
I feel that schools should not ban phones because people can be restricted from using it during class and use them responsibly.
In the case of an emergency students should be able to access their parent or guardian. I also think that we are old enough to control ourselves and understand that we need our education more than our phones.
