The Lady Blue Devil volleyball team continued its pushed into the postseason last night and at the same continued B-A’s Backyard Brawl dominance this fall.
The Lady Devils defeated Tyrone 3-1 at the Tyrone Area Middle school. The win gave Bellwood-Antis four Backyard Brawl victories against rival Tyrone and three this week alone. On Wednesday, both the boys and girls cross country teams downed the Golden Eagles. Two weeks ago the Blue Devil football team topped Tyrone 28-21.
The team was supported by a strong student section that travelled to Tyrone for a white out game.
B-A lost the first set against the Lady Eagles, 17- 25, but then came back and won the next 3 (25-21, 25-19, 25-22).
The Lady Devils’ top players did what they had to do to get the win, putting up big stats.
Senior Avah Hassler had the most assists with 29. Senior Ava Patton led the team with the most digs with 16. Classmate Addy Turek continued her blistering season with 20 kills and 8 blocks.
B-A now has a big week to close the regular season, playing a pair of home games next week against Bishop McCort on Monday and Bellefonte on Tuesday.
