SCORE! This has been an incredible season for Junior High soccer. Two of our very own soccer athletes, Jordan Johnsonbaugh (Utility) and Colby Bardell (Utility), agreed to answer questions to update readers on the season. When asked about their goals for this season, Jordan said, “I want us to grow as a team and win,” and Colby said, “I want to score more goals than I did last season.’’ Secondly, Johnsonbaugh and Bardell were asked what they enjoy most about fall sports. Jordan shared that she enjoys hanging out with friends and the fun bus rides. Similarly, Colby’s favorite part about fall sports is hanging out with friends.
Bellwood has the unique experience to co-op with our neighboring school, Tyrone. Our athletes reported that it is an amazing opportunity to get to meet and spend time with new people from another school. It is a fun and inclusive environment. On bus rides to away games, a Tyrone athlete brings a speaker so they have music to enjoy: win or lose! According to team members, the captains on the team are awesome, helpful, and supportive. Soccer has brought two rivals together and created a positive environment.
