Bellwood-Antis hopes to start off with a win in the first round of the District 6 playoffs. B-A will play at home against Juniata. The Lady Blue Devils are looking to keep their momentum going, after winning their last six games of the regular season.
Heading into this game, B-A had a final regular season record of 13-5, where they sit in 6th place in the District 6 AA rankings. Juniata finished their season with a record of 13-9, and they are in 11th place in District 6 AA.
The Lady Blue Devils are currently 3rd in the Laurel Highlands Conference. Juniata is 4th in the Tri-Valley League. Since Juniata is on the edge of District 6 and in a completely different conference, they have no common opponents with B-A.
Bellwood-Antis has multiple great players that can help win this game, and possibly make a run in the playoffs. Senior Addy Turek leads the team in kills per set, averaging 4.4. Turek also leads the team in blocks with 67. Avah Hassler and Ava Patton also play large roles for the team. Hassler leads the team in assists with 362 this season, and Patton leads the team in digs with 172.
“We are preparing for playoffs by putting in extra time to watch film on the teams we play,” Ava Patton says. “Also putting in the time and effort to show up for practice everyday to work out the things we do wrong in the games.”
B-A has a set differential of +24, while Juniata has a set differential of +18.
The game is on Thursday and will start at 7. Tickets are $8 each, and must be purchased online.
This game is lined up to be a close matchup between these two talented teams. It is not a game someone will want to miss.
