The Bellwood-Antis cross-country team ran in its final regular season meet on Monday at the Blair Huntingdon Invitational at Logan School . B-A had many top finishers with others improving on previous times.
The girls team showed what they can bring to the table, as they tallied 4 girls ranking in the top 15. Sophomore Blake Pennington placed 8th with a time of 22:31. Another runner in their second year who saw success was Julie Kraft, who came in 10th with a time of 23:24. Senior Rylie Andrews came in 11th, clocking in at 23:38. Sophomore number 3 on the list was Peyton Hammond, placing 15th with a time of 24:50.
“I think the team all together has gotten better,” said Pennington. “We’ve had so much fun this year and we got really close with each other.”
On the boys’ side of things, the Devils had one runner place in the top 15, with three more not far behind. Junior Cameron Gallagher came in 13th, running a 19:35. Senior McCaulley Corle was 24th with a time of 21:31. Junior Matin Fatzinger completed the course with a time of 21:45 coming in 26th. Dominick Hallerz, who is in his sophomore year, came in 28th after running a 22:02.
These athletes seem to be setting new milestones with each race. Be sure to come out and support them this Saturday, as they run in the District 6 championship meet.
