Movember, a charitable movement to raise money to fight against childhood cancer, challenged eleven teachers for the best looking mustache.
It was sponsored this year by B-A’s mini-THON group as a fundraiser for their annual drive, which raises money for the Four Diamonds. A handful of teachers grew ustaches, and students voted for the best ones with donation money each day at lunch.
In the semi-finals, there were five mustaches left to win including Mr. Schreier, Mr. Rhone, Mr. Rhone, Mr. Partner, Mr. Elder, and Mr. McNaul.
When the time came for a winner, there was a close call between Mr. Partner and Mr. Elder, but Mr. Elder came out on top.
In all, the fundraiser collected around $150.
“I wanted to lose from week one, so I was shocked that I was in it until the end,” Mr. Elder said.
In the beginning, Mr. Elder was not in first place “so that was surprising,” he stated. The experience, he said, was worthwhile to be a part of.
He was only slightly embarrassed because he is one of mini-THON’s advisors, along with Mr. Hallahan, who was voted out in the first round.
Congratulations Mr. Elder on coming in first, but remember he “did not rig it,” he admits.
