Coach Lovrich thought that he would have both of his Starting running backs this past season but with Chase Plummer and Alex McCartney both tore there ACLs. Alex tore his ACL on July 9th and Alex had his surgery on August 14th 2024 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. Alex said ” My recovery has been great, my surgeon Dr. Wilson said that I’m healing very well and that I’m way ahead and my Physical Trainer Dr. Haulman says that same.”. I do Physical Therapy and exercises at my house to help my injury. ” I’m mentally ready to play other sports , but physically I need some work.”. Chase tore his ACL on August 23 2024 in the first football game of the season. Chase said he will be 100% in the middle of June. Next football season i plan to win states, get all-conference and get recruited. ” the hardest part of missing out of the football season is not being able to play to play the sport i enjoy and not being able prove myself after all the hard work i put in the offseason.”.
Coach lovrich said ” It was really tough to see Alex go though that injury, like it is when any athlete gets injured.” and ” Alex was one of our leaders in the offseason who really brought it into our lifting lifting program.”. It was great seeing him participate in so much of the team’s plan because when one of your best players when one of your best players buys in, other guys follow. Not only did the football team Alex and Chase , also they lost Bryson Hescox at the Spring College combine at Bald Eagle. He injured his knee and was unable to play this year.
With all those injuries during the season they finished with a record of 8-4 with a Pa rank of 181 and finishing 6th Laurel Highlands. Bellwood-Antis beat River Valley 43 to 14 , and unfortunately they loss to Cambria Heights 8 to 15.
