Bellwood-Antis had strong showings during the fall season, including four LHAC East all-conference first team athletes. Addy Turek, Cayden Pellegrine, Briley Campbell, and Marissa Cacciotti were all named to top all-star teams for their respective sports.
Turek was named first team hitter on the volleyball team. Turek led the Lady Devils to a 15-7-1 record. She had 272 kills on the season, well surpassing the 700 mark for her career. Turek did her part on defense with 90 total blocks.
She is the one B-A fall sports athlete to repeat on the first team after making it as a junior.
“I’m extremely honored to receive first team. However, volleyball is a team sport, and I wouldn’t have gotten this without the hard work put in by the rest of my team,” Turek credited. “We all worked extremely hard this season, so being recognized like this is big.”
Cayden Pellegrine showed his versatility on the gridiron at the tight end position, which is where he made the all-LHAC team. Pellegrine led the Blue Devils with 12 touchdowns while rushing for 611 yards and was second in receiving with 22 receptions for 429 yards. He was also named to the second team at linebacker, where he averaged 7.9 tackles a game.
“It’s nice to see all the hard work pay off. I was focused on just winning games and never anticipated this honor,” Pellegrine commented.
Briley Campbell showed up on the soccer field. She followed up her junior campaign by leading her team with 14 goals on the season and 7 assists.
“It’s such an honor to be named to first team offense, but I wouldn’t have been able to do achieve anything this season without the hard work of my teammates and the support from my coaches and family,” Campbell stated. “I’m so thankful for all of them.”
Marissa Cacciotti earned her spot on defense. Cacciotti put up strong numbers year long, and her team oriented effort got her selected.
“I’m so grateful for this achievement, and I want to thank my teammates and coaches for all their hard work and support throughout the season,” Cacciotti said.
The Blue Devils also had four separate athletes make the LHAC East second team. This list featured Hunter Kyle, Christian Jennings, Jayce Quick, and Noah Gulvas.
Kyle found his spot at center. He was a big part of B-A’s offensive line. Jennings was selected for his work on both sides of the ball at guard and defensive tackle. Quick was another piece in the Blue Devils dominant line.
Sophomore Noah Gulvas, meanwhile, led the soccer team’s offense in just his second season on varsity.
Jackson Grassmyer and Griffin Kyle were also named LHAC East Honorable Mentions.
