Fantasy football: Week 1 surprises

Week 1 had some suprises for fantasy football owners.

This week was one full of upsets and comebacks in the fantasy world. From tight ends like Travis Kelce scoring a whopping 22.6 fantasy points, to Calvin Johnson scoring a measly 3.9., the scores were all around the place this weekend.

Someone who came into the spotlight fast on Sunday was Rams running back Benny Cunningham, who was declared the starter 20 minutes before game-time. He scored a respectable 12.2 points.

A sleeper player this season was Tennessee’s second-year running back, Bishop Sankey. Sankey scored 22.3 points out of nowhere against Tampa Bay last weekend. Carlos Hyde went off last night against the Vikings, rushing for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns. He destroyed the ground game and took the spotlight from Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson, who only rushed for 32 yards and a touchdown. Pencil Hyde in as a solid starting running back week after week this season.

With big time players like T.Y. Hilton, Dez Bryant, and Desean Jackson sustaining injuries on Sunday, this will make for a frustrating fantasy football week on this upcoming weekend. Have fun replacing your quality injured starter!
