Someone will always be unhappy
November 23, 2015
Ninth grade English students at Bellwood-Antis were recently asked to read to read an article about college sports teams that are beginning to drop the name “Lady” from their women’s sports teams. After reading the article, students were asked if political correctness was making us too sensitive.
Today, people just want to please everyone. What do people consider “correct”?
I feel that people are trying too hard to make sure everyone is happy. Some people are very sensitive and want to feel as though everyone is respecting all people’s thoughts and feelings. But in my opinion, there is only so much you can do to make people happy.
For example, it all depends on where and when you grew up. Are you going to call someone an African American or black? Are you going to say the girl in a wheel chair is handicapped or physically unable?
No matter what is said, someone will be unhappy.
