Lady Devils cruise to victory

The Lady Blue Devil’s put up 54 points in the first half as they went on to defeat Williamsburg 73-26 last Monday night at home.

B-A improved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the ICC, while the Lady Pirates remained winless at 0-6.

Bellwood-Antis got off to an early start, putting up 26 points in the first quarter while only allowing Williamsburg to score 14. B-A then added 28 points in the second quarter as went into the half with a healthy 54-17 lead over the Lady Pirates.

Senior Caroline Showalter said, “We came out hard and that helped us have the right mentality to beat Williamsburg.”

After the half the Lady Devils’ scoring slowed down as they added 19 points in the second half. The lady Pirates were only able to put up 9 points in the second half as the Lady Devils cruised to victory.

Junior Karson Swogger led the team with 18 points, followed by senior Abbey Crider with 15 points and freshman Riley D’Angelo with 9 points.

The Lady Blue Devils will be back in action this Thursday when they host the West Branch Lady Warriors.
