Nagle Smacks Her 100th Hit

B-A Senior Now in a Club All By Herself: the Century Club

Emily Nagle joined the 100 hits club.

Bellwood-Antis senior Emily Nagle recorded her 100th career varsity hit Thursday, April 3, at Mount Union, in a game the girls softball team won 16-6. Emily also had 3 RBI’s.

Nagle becomes the first player in Bellwood-Antis softball history to record 100 hits.

“I’m the first in school history to do it, and that means a lot,” said Nagle, who has already signed to play softball in college at Slippery Rock. “I have put in a lot of hard work, and Coach Payne really pushes me to be my best. The team was there to support me, and that means a lot. And my entire family was there to see me do it, so that helped, too.”

Coach Jim Payne said, “Emily is a very special player, athlete and above all, a great person! It has been my pleasure to coach such a great competitor and individual.”

Nagle is an honor student ranked 10th in the class, and she recently received word she was selected for one of the two scholarships awarded annually by the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame. She will receive the award on April 26th.
