TUNE TALK: ABBA
January 7, 2017
One of the most popular bands from the 70’s was the Swedish pop group called ABBA.
ABBA’s music is popular all over the world, even though it is quite old. ABBA’s music is based around the guitar, drums, piano, and the keyboard. The band consists of four members: Benny Anderson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida), Agnetha Faltskog, and Bjorn Ulvaeus.
The single “Dancing Queen,” released in August, 1976, is one of the most popular songs by ABBA. Other popular songs by ABBA would be: “Lay All Your Love On Me,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Fernando,” “Mama Mia,” and “Take a Chance on Me.”
Altogether, the band won 26 awards consisting of best songs, albums, and honorary’s. The biggest award was the World Music Award for World’s Best Selling Swedish Artist. Their most popular albums are: ABBA GOLD, and Waterloo.
In my opinion, ABBA is one of the best bands in the world. I adore the 70’s and early 80’s. ABBA definitely made quite a dent in the world of music. Classics never get old.
I recommend you to listen to “Chiquitita”, “Gimme Gimme”, “Lay All Your Love On Me”, and “Fernando”. I promise you, you will not be let down.
