PHOTO STORY: Bickle scores in first varsity game

On January 5, Bellwood-Antis senior Brandon Bickle, a student diagnosed with autism, made his first varsity start for the basketball team. Brandon was a player all through middle school before taking on the role of the team manager in ninth grade. Coach Brent Gerwert had discussed Brandon suiting up with the varsity team for more than a year with parents, and when the Blue Devils played West Branch on a night when no other school functions were occurring, the time was right to put Brandon into game action.
