A remarkable ending to the regular season occurred yesterday afternoon for the Blue Devil Baseball team as they finished 15-4 heading into the District 6 AA playoffs, topping ICC opponent West Branch at home.

Bellwood came out knocking the cover off the ball, scoring 10 runs in two innings, ultimately leading to a 12-0 victory in 5 innings.

Caden Nagle got the win on he mound for B-A bringing the heat to strike out five batters through four innings.

Caden has thrown the ball well all year.  I look for him to have a huge impact on the team next year as one of our key pitchers,” said Coach Steve Conlon.

Nevin Wood and Travis Luensmann each collected three hits and three RBI’s to lead the Devils to a quick victory.

B-A will have a quick turnaround as the Devils host Bishop Guilfoyle tomorrow in the District playoffs.

“All teams in the postseason start with a 0-0 record and what happened in the regular season no longer matters,” said Coach Conlon.  “We will have a good practice today and be ready for BG tomorrow.”
