The Blue Devil track and field team took second place at yesterday’s ICC meet at memorial Stadium, led by a strong performance from junior Matt McMillan.

McMillan’s time of 41.93 in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, though not a personal record, stood out for the team. He won gold in the 300 hurdles, and was a member of the winning 4×100 and 4×400 team.

He also took second in the 110-meter hurdles.

“I think I did pretty well and was pleased with my performance, but I think I could’ve done better,” said McMillan. “I should be able to do better at Districts, seeing that I’ll have to, to make states.”

McMillan teamed with Devon Burr, Nathan Davis and Jake Burch for a win in the 4×100 relay, while the team of McMillanBurch, Davis and Kyler Lardieri took first in the 4×400 relay.

In javelin, Nick Torsell placed second with a personal-best throw of 166 feet.

Northern Bedford won the meet with 123 total points, while Bellwood-Antis finished second with 106.
