Bellwood-Antis Students Earn Over $66,000 in Scholarships

On Monday May 12th students at Bellwood-Antis attended the 27th Annual Achievement Recognition and Scholarship Banquet, “A Celebration of Excellence”. With the help of 75 scholarships through generous donors and sponsors Bellwood-Antis was able to award over $66,000 in awards. The scholarships started at $250 and went to as high as $5,000.

Achievement awards, as well as scholarships, were handed out to students at Bellwood-Antis. The District Chorus awards were handed out to: Mara Lundberg, Abbey Crider, Revel Southwell, Amanda Albright, Alayna Roberts, Randy Zitterbart, Lynnea Burr, Emily Estright, Owen Worthing, and Issac Mills. The Regional Chorus awards were awarded to: Amanda Albright, Alayna Roberts, Abbey Crider, Issac Mills, Emily Estright, and Owen Worthing. PJAS State Qualifier was Kerri Little. The PHSSL State Speech Qualifiers were: Mara Lundberg, Owen Worthing, Emily Estright, Revel Southwell, Luke Hollingshead, Katelyn Shaulis, Randy Zitterbart, and Abigail Patton. For NCFL Nation Speech Qualifiers the following were named: Stephanie Mills, Revel Southwell, Grace Misera, Haley McCloskey, Owen Worthing, Emily Estright, Katelyn Shaulis, and Addison Clemente. NFL National Speech Qualifiers were: Abigail Patton, Owen Worthing, Emily Estright, Alayna Roberts, and Katelyn Shaulis. Chad Messner, Amanda Albright, Curt Messner, and Revel Southwell were awarded for District Band. Regional Band students were: Chad Messner, Curt Messner, and Revel Southwell. For Susquehanna Honors Band Chad and Curt Messner were both awarded. Chad Messner was awarded the John Philip Sousa Band Award. Mallory Harold received the Patrick S. Gilmore Band Award. Michael McElhinney and Danny Nelson were awarded the FFA Keystone Degree Awards. Owen Worthing was awarded for having the Highest Senior SAT score. Danny Nelson was awarded with the Exemplary Attendance Award.

Some other awards given were from the GACTC National Technical Honor Society as they recognized Taylor Harold and Jesse Branstetter. Johnathon Ritter was the Triple Medallion Winner for Hotel and Lodging Management and Tyler Moore won 2nd place for the Written Event of a Community Service Project. GACTC recognized Seniors of the Year from Bellwood-Antis. Tyler Moore was recognized for Logistics and Materials Management. For Outdoor Power Equipment Zachariah Hornberger was honored. Jessica Killinger was recognized for her work in Cosmetology. The Visual Arts recognized Tristen Miller for her outstanding work. Alexander Leskowitz was given the American Welding Society Award. Skills USA State competition awarded Scott Pearce 2nd place in Chapter Display Team and Zachariah Hornberger 3rd place in Marine Service Technology. Elizabeth was given the Dorothy Markley Nearhoof Award. For Exceptional Arts Night Showcases the students recognized were: Adam Osborne, Joe Beam, Selena Damiano, Meghan Claar, Rachel Harris, and Elizabeth Miller.
