B-A alumni Jackson Boyer, Phillip CHamberlain, and Lauren Young will represent their respective college divisions at Penn State Altoona as Marshalls in this week’s graduation ceremonies.

Penn State Altoona has chosen marshals for the Spring commencement ceremony, and three of the four are B-A graduates. These selected students will lead their fellow graduates in the procession.

Jackson Boyer and Philip Chamberlin from the class of 2020 will represent the Business and Mathematics and Natural Sciences divisions, respectively, with Lauren Young from the class of 2021 representing the Division of Education.

Marshals are standardly determined by outstanding academic achievements, but other factors including engagement with the university, involvement in research and leadership activities, can be taken into account.

Mrs. Amy Chamberlin, high school secretary and mother of Philip Chamberlin, is proud of B-A’s representation in this ceremony.

“I think that says a lot about our school and the caliber of students that graduate from here. Great job to [the teachers at B-A] for helping [the marshals] get to where they are today,” she quoted.

The Penn State Altoona commencement ceremony will be held in the Adler Athletic Complex on May 5, 2024.
