Lady Devils Dominate In Win At The Backyard Brawl
A key component for the Bellwood Antis Lady Blue Devils this season was the teams experience in big games, and that experience shined bright as the Ladies came away with a 66-40 win against rival Tyrone in the season opener.
The Lady Devils were lead by senior Alli Campbell, who only practiced once this season because of surgery on a broken left pinky finger, as she dominated Tyrone with 35 points.
B-A came out firing and started the game with a 9-3 run, and it was all Bellwood the entire game. The Lady Devils were up 9 at the half, and Alli had all but 8 of the teams points.
The story in the second half was very similar, as the duo of Alli Campbell, and Sakeria Haralson combined for 27 points, and propelled the team to a 26 point victory in the teams first action of the year.
Alli Campbell ended the game with 35 points, Sakeria Haralson put in 13, and Macy Decker was hitting threes to give herself 9 points for The Lady Devils.
Tyrone’s Jaida Parker had 22 of the teams 40 points.
“The game Saturday was great start to our season. I was so excited to finally be able to play with the team! It’s all up from here,” said senior Notre Dame commit Alli Campbell.
The BA Lady Blue Devils next contest will be there home opener on Tuesday as they host ICC opponent West Branch.
