Last week the Blue Devils claimed an overwhelming victory over the Everett Warriors 46-0. They are looking to keep their two-game winning streak going at home tonight against the Glendale Vikings.

The 1-1 Vikings previously faced off against a precursory Bellwood opponent, the Northern Bedford Panthers, last Friday. The Vikings fell to the Panthers, 40-0. However, Glendale claimed a victory in the beginning of the season over the Everett Warriors, 28-0. Underestimating is not the mindset tonight for the Devils. Senior wide receiver Owen Shedlock says: “They have a lot of good athletes and you have to respect their program.”

Coach Lovrich concurred.

“Glendale is a very formidable team. They have been on the rise,” said B-A coach Nick Lovrich. “They had a new coach last year in Coach Trexler, and I think he has done a really good job. They are working hard in the offseason, and they have some athletes on their team.”

It remains to be seen whether the Vikings can stop B-A’s powerful running attack, which is averaging 291 yards per game. Zach Mallon is the Devils’ top rusher with 204 yards.

Last night the school board officially ruled they are having their own take on spectator capacity. Each player, cheerleader, and band member on each team will be given four vouchers that can be paid for at the entrance. The school board asked fans to keep their distance from others and to wear a mask during the game.

Tonight will also be Senior Night for the Blue and Gold. Senior members of the football team, cheerleading squad, band, and volleyball team will be recognized before the game.
