World Teachers’ Day

Teachers like Mr. McNaul are what World Teachers Day is all about.

Today is World Teachers’ Day. You may have a favorite teacher or a teacher who you absolutely adore. They have gone above and beyond to encourage you because they could see you had potential. Teachers mold future generations, taking one day a year to say “thank you” is the least we can do.

World Teachers’ Day is annually held on October 5. This has been the case since the first observation way back in 1994.

This holiday marks the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. The Recommendation sets benchmarks regarding teachers’ rights. It also sets standards for teacher training, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.

While teaching is a noble career, it is

a challenging one as well. More than ever, teachers are having a difficult time. Some of the things they contend with in the classroom each day are disruptive environments, lack of resources, and limited time. For teachers who have many students, it can be difficult to provide individualized attention.

To observe World Teachers’ Day, the best thing you can do is thank a teacher who made a positive impact on your life. If you are a student, be sure to thank your teachers for giving you a good education You can even use #WorldTeachersDay on social media to give them recognition.

How can you celebrate World Teachers’ Day? You can ask your students to think back about their favorite teacher and let him or her know why their past interactions were so meaningful. You can have them get creative by creating a card or even a poem expressing their gratitude. Even saying “thank you” can make a teacher happy.

There is a quote that says: “The true teachers are those who help us think of ourselves.” – Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan

That quote is for the teachers who show us how to be true to ourselves and not think about what others have to say about us. They help us focus on what is important in our lives.

Today, go thank your teachers for everything they do for you. They have put their time and dedication to give you the education you need to succeed. Just by saying “thank you” can make their day brighter. Just show them the gratitude you have for them like the gratitude they show for you.
