Feature Teacher: Mr. Trexler
This month’s Feature Teacher is the one-and-only Mr. Tim “T-Rex” Trexler. A Cedarville University alum with a degree in elementary education, Mr. Trexler has accumulated 32 years of teaching in his career over first, third, and sixth grades, of which now he currently resides teaching in the middle school.
Mr. Trexler is a student-favorite around the halls of B-A. Junior Sean Mallon says:
”Back in sixth grade, I always liked his class. He found a way to make it fun every day, and I looked forward to it.”
The BluePrint asked Mr. Trexler some questions about his experiences at Bellwood and his education.
The BluePrint: What made you want to teach?
Mr. Trexler: “I had really great teachers in my life, and that really made a difference. Education was a good fit with my personality and skill set.”
The BluePrint: Are you married? Do you have children?
Mr. Trexler: “I am married to Deanna Trexler, who I have the privilege of working along side of this year. We have been married for 27 years. I have two daughters, C`aryn 24, a cardio sonographer in the Philadelphia area, and Carissa, 23, who is enrolled in a grad program at Penn State University studying to become a speech pathologist.”
The BluePrint: What’s your favorite part about Bellwood?
Mr. Trexler: “I always feel that we are in a bubble and time isn’t the same as it is everywhere else. When I hear other educators talk about their districts and what happens there, I am always super appreciative for the kids and families that I have been in contact with in our district.”
The BluePrint: If you had to give students any advice, what would it be?
Mr. Trexler: “Be intentional! Whether it’s your school work, your job, or a relationship. Make it a commitment, become focused, and take action to everything that is important to you.”
Without teachers like Mr. Trexler, life at the Bellwood-Antis School District wouldn’t be the same. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
