Ireland Cherry has been an avid participant in sports at Bellwood-Antis. She runs cross country and track, but her current sports takes her away from home to Tyrone, where she swims for the Tyrone/Bellwood co-op swimming team.

Ireland swims in the 400 freestyle relay, or the 200 freestyle relay. She said her goals for this season include winning as many meets the team can, and to be in as many events as possible.

When asked about the difficulty she faces having to travel to Tyrone everyday to practice, she was very optimistic saying, “Honestly, I love going to practice at Tyrone because of the people I’ve made friends with.”

Ireland’s favorite part about the swimming team is all the new friendships she has made, and how supportive everyone is of each other.
