Just Junior: Caroline Showalter

She’s loud, she’s confident, and very outgoing. She’s a softball and a basketball player and has a brother named Jack. Do you know who it is?

It’s… Caroline Lucille Showalter!

This soon to be senior loves Italian food and ice tea—seriously she always has a jug of it.

One of her favorite memories involve her and the Squad (Hannah Klesius, Emily Hoover, Mariah Younker, Roz Yancey, the Perry brothers, Justin Gunsallus and the occasional Caleb Kinsley) and all of their trips. Not to mention the wonderful cookie challenge every day last year at lunch.showalter2

But let’s not forget all of those bus rides with the Bellwood-Antis softball team where she would sing anything from a rap by Mike Stud to a pop song by Taylor Swift as she annoyed head coach Jim Payne.

“Yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games.”That’s one of her favorite quotes along with, “We don’t waste food!” Yeah… she’s an interesting one. (Ask her about that story. You won’t regret it.)

“More food options—cheaper food… that’s what I want to change about this school. And phones. I think phones at lunch wouldn’t be a big problem.”

And one of her proudest achievements? When she was awarded Gatorade Heart Hustle and Soul award along with getting second at the World Series.

Caroline can’t wait for her senior year for the simple fact of playing her last seasons of basketball and softball.

So there you go, there’s a little look into the life of Caroline Showalter.
