Caleb Beiswenger was the Blue Devils’ top scorer against West Branch.

The Bellwood-Antis boys basketball took a 68-45 loss to West Branch on Thursday at home.

Early in the game, scores were close, with Bellwood trailing close behind the Warriors. By the end of the first half, the Blue Devils were down 12 points. 

In the third quarter, West Branch went on a 10-0 run, eventually taking a 22-point lead. During the fourth, B-A was not able to close the gap, and settled the 23 point loss. 

Senior Caleb Beiswenger finished the game with 16 total points, making him the high scorer for the Blue Devils. 

The boys travel to Mount Union on Monday, January 9 to take on the Trojans. 

The Lady Devils, meanwhile, traveled to Huntingdon on Wednesday, where they won 64-42 in a non-conference game.

Senior Lydia Worthing led the team with 20 points on 71% from the field. Worthing was able to grab 10 rebounds, picking up another double double on the season. 

After a close, high-scoring first quarter, B-A led the game 17-10. The Lady Devils were up 32-18 to close out the first half. 

Also helping the team was freshmen Lilly Gerwert with 10 points and sophomore Leigha Clapper putting up 13. 

The girls are now 7-2 with their next game against West Branch tonight on the road.
