Chelsea McCaulsky has made her impact on Bellwood-Antis, especially in the girls basketball program. Halfway through her senior season, Chelsea has led her team to a 13-3 record.

Chelsea has had a role on the varsity team since she was a freshmen, when unfortunately the season got cut short due to the COVID school shutdowns. She continued to improve her game over the years and now is playing the best she ever has.

Chelsea has done some impressive things this season, including a Kiwanis Holiday Tournament championship, the tournament MVP award, and most recently scoring 1,000 career points. Because of her recent accomplishments, Chelsea has been named BluePrint Athlete of the Week.

“It feels great to have my name on that list. Knowing I’m only the 15th girl in school history to score 1,000 makes it more rewarding,” Chelsea said.

In her last game, where she got her 1000th point, she scored 20, leading the Lady Devils to a 65-14 victory over Moshannon Valley.  She joined only 14 others to score 1,000 for the Lady Devils.

“Chelsea has had a great career as a Lady Blue Devil,” said Coach Jim Swaney, who has coached 9 of B-A’s 15 thousand-point scorers. “She is a great leader and a point guard who always puts her team above personal accomplishments.”

Chelsea is averaging 12.9 points per game and 6.3 assists per game. Her highest scoring game was against Central where she put up 21 points.

“The point guard position at Bellwood-Antis has had some of the best players in school history,” Swaney said. “Chelsea belongs to be side by side these great players.”

The Lady Devils next game is against Curwensville Thursday.
