Track and Field teams host season opener

Last night the Bellwood-Antis boys and girls track and field teams split with the Bedford Bison in a dual meet to start the 2023 season. The Lady Blue Devils won their meet with a score of 85-65.

 Helping the girls team for B-A was senior Lexi Lovrich, coming in first place in the 800 run (2:40.9) and 1600 run (5:53.0). Sophomore Addy Turek took first in the high jump (4’8). Senior Aly Partner took first in the shot put (30-7.5) and Chelsea McCaulsky took first in the Javelin (111-2) and Discus (82-9). Junior Chloe Hammond took first in the triple jump. (30-10)

The girls are now 1-0 and their next meet is against Hollidaysburg and Bishop Guilfoyle on Thursday.

The B-A boys track and field team lost to Bedford with a score of 86-64.

Some top scores for the boys were junior Kole Dickinson in the 110m hurdles with a first place finish with a time of 16.9. Junior Gabe Thompson took third in the 200m dash with a time of 24.3. Junior Ben Ritchey and Danny Weeden took second and third in the 400m dash with times of 56.1 and 57.2. Senior Caleb Beiswenger took first in the 1600m run (5:19.9). Senior Dylan Andrews took first in the triple jump. (39-9) Sophomore Holden Schrier took first in the 3200m run 12:12. Senior Eli Pluebell took first in the shot put with 44-1. 

The boys start out their season 0-1 and their next meet is against Hollidaysburg and Bishop Guilfoyle on Thursday.
