We all know him, and we all love him. This week’s feature teacher is none other than Mr. Gary Rhone!
Mr. Rhone got his education from Penn State. He has been teaching here at Bellwood-Antis for five years, but he has been teaching for thirty years. He teaches World Cultures and Current Events.
Mr. Rhone’s favorite part about his job is making history entertaining and relatable for students! His least favorite part is watching students not caring about their grades, which will impact their future.
When asked what his favorite lesson to teach was, he responded, “The Silk Road Game of course! [I enjoy] showing the interconnected world that exists then and now.”
The hardest part of being a teacher in Mr. Rhone’s opinion is continually updating on technology, which seems to change yearly.
Inside of school, Mr. Rhone also helps out as an advisor for Mock Trial. Outside of school, you can find him working seasonally for the Altoona Curve and for Penn State at Beaver Stadium. He likes to collect classic rock recordings, keeping up on the news for is Current Events class, and gardening.
Congratulations on being this week’s feature teacher, Mr. Rhone!
