Mrs. McNaul’s art classes have been taking a tree through its yearly evolution as a way of brightening up the hallways at Bellwood-Antis.

When you walk into school everyday, you may see a tree with leaves on it on the wall near the art room.

Art teacher Mrs. McNaul has made a tree for decoration in the hallways for everyone to enjoy and to see.

Mrs. McNaul said she does an installation in the hallway every year because it’s very bare in the hallway until artwork is made and displayed. So it helps bring a feeling of life in the hallway. Mr. Barr and Mrs. Wright inspired this idea.

Mrs. McNaul’s middle schoolers take turns changing the leaves and placing them at them at the bottom of the tree.

“Not only it is a visually active it is productively active,” said Mrs. McNaul

She hopes that people enjoy watching the tree go through stages of the seasons as the school year progresses. Her class started the year with leaves colored in greens and yellows, and now the tree leaves changed to oranges, yellows and reds. As fall has progressed they’ve been taking off the leaves and putting them at the bottom to show progression. When winter comes they will be making snowflakes and then putting them on the tree.

In the spring she hopes to have yellow and green back on the tree.
