Two Bellwood-Antis juniors were recently awarded for their outstanding performance at the Greater Altoona Career Technology center (GACTC).
Ireland Cherry and Katelyn Brallier were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. They attend GACTC as part of the Dental Assistant program.
“It’s cool because you get rewarded for your hard work,” Katelyn said.
According to its website, the National Technical Honor Society is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. The organization boasts more than 100,000 members and awards more than $300,000 annually in scholarships.
“It’s exciting to achieve because we did it together. It’s a really nice program,” Ireland said.
Ireland and Katelyn were recognized at an awards banquet earlier in November. Their teacher is Ms. Lascoli.
