Mini-Thon is sponsoring a dance this Saturday at the Elementary school.

This year Mini-Thon will sponsor “Dance for a Cause” for high school students this Saturday, January 13th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Elementary school gym.

There is no specific theme, although students are loosely encouraged to wear the black, gold, and white colors representing Mini-Thon.

The dance has a semi-formal to formal dress code, although the sponsors would rather money be spent donating than on apparel for the dance.

“I don’t care if you show up in a red button up and kakis, the most important thing is to raise money and have fun,” stated Shawn Hallahan, who is in charge of Mini-Thon this year.

At the dance, Mr. Mini-Thon will be crowned. Students from grades 9-12 signed up to raise money via the Donor Drive to run for the title.

Each grade level will crown a prince at the dance, and the king will be determined by the candidate who raises the most money.

The candidates include Jacob Caracciolo, Thad Dick, Kole Dickinson, Martin Fatzinger, Luke Gurekovich, Eric Johnson, Alex McCartney, and Holden Schreier. You can donate to the candidate you want to win through the links on each name.

“I feel great about the dance because we are raising money for childhood cancer,” commented Eric Johnson, “and I do not care if I win, I am just glad I helped in the fight.”

The dance is $10 per person and tickets will be sold in Mrs. Stinson’s room until the day before. No tickets will be sold at the door.
