You might have heard of her before when she taught at another school or even after she arrived here at Bellwood-Antis. This week’s Feature Teacher is Mrs. Kustaborder, who is a new teacher a teaching world geography in the middle school.
Mrs. Kustaborder taught at both Altoona and Belleville before making her appearance here. She has been teaching overall for 18 years.
Her experience at Bellwood so far has been good. ” I love it!” she’s said. She also teaches 8th grade American Cultures.
In the past she taught 7th grade world geography at Altoona and taught a variety of grades and subjects including world history, geography, and American History at Belleville.
She started her teaching career by substituting for teachers before she got her first teaching position.
Mrs. Kustaborder’s favorite part of teaching is sharing the love she has for history to her students. Before choosing to teach history she wanted to be a music teacher.
Her inspiration started was seeing how much her mother and grandmother both loved teaching.
Her tip for upcoming teachers is to have a positive attitude, be patient, be consistent with expectations and routines, and also be able to laugh at yourself!
