The first Feature Teacher of the year is Mr. Evan Frye. Mr. Frye was hired as a long-term substitute teacher and currently teaches the psychology and sociology classes.
Mr. Frye graduated from Bellwood-Antis in 2020 During the COVID year and then went on to go to Pitt-Johnston.
When asked his thoughts about returning to the school district, Mr. Frye replied, “I absolutely love Bellwood. It has a very special family feel that not every place has. Both students and faculty are friendly and take great pride in the school.”
With a follow up question about what he plans to do after this year, he responded, “after this year, I plan to either stay around Bellwood as a day-to-day substitute teacher or take a full-time position at a neighboring school district.”
Mr. Frye said that the hardest part of the job thus far is knowing when to separate school time from personal time. He goes on to say that as a first year teacher, he feels that sometimes there aren’t enough hours in a day to get everything done.
The easiest part of the job for him is that he doesn’t even consider it a “job.” When someone asks him where he’s going in the mornings, he never says he’s “going to work,” and instead says “I’m going to school!”
Good luck to Mr. Frye and his future at Bellwood-Antis!
