As the new school year gets underway, we give a farewell to our seniors, but this year a special goodbye to the infamous mustache.
Mr. Hallahan is known f0r the cheerful attitude he brings into school. He’s a jolly ol’ man some might say, teaching students the basics on high-school (Freshman Seminar), excelling at excel (Computer Applications), and preparing for the financial part of the world (Financial Literacy).
Mr. Hallahan has been around the school for 3.5 years, striving to help educate yet also create a great working environment for students. “Fostering a positive learning environment while also encouraging students to be critical thinkers,” Hallahan described as his role.
Aside from teaching, Mr. Hallahan works alongside with Mr. Elder on the yearly Mini-Thon fundraiser. Mini-Thon fundraises for the non-profit charity Four Diamonds, which dedicates money towards families and communities suffering from childhood cancer.
Four years of coaching jr. high football is also one of Hallahan’s activities within the school.
There are many ways that Mr. Hallahan shows school pride, but what about outside of school?
Outside of school Mr. Hallahan still plays an active part in sports and nature like, golfing traveling, and camping. He also enjoys cooking so much, he said, that he might even be the next Rachel Ray!
“I was very lucky to have had many great teachers and mentors throughout my educational journey,” Hallahan said, “I want to have the same impact on our students here at B-A.”
As Mr. Hallahan continues to teach, he creates an atmosphere for students and faculty that reflects the perks of being a teacher here at Bellwood-Antis.
