An all time fall favorite show is Gilmore Girls. A mother and her daughter lead viewer’s curiosity throughout seasons. The show kicked off in October of 2000 with their first television series.
Lauren Graham starring as Lorelai Gilmore and Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) capture the reminiscence of mother-daughter relationships. The show takes place in Stars-Hollow, Connecticut a small town Lorelai runs off to when she became pregnant at 16.
The bond between Lorelai and her parents, specifically her mother, resembles her childhood. Now Lorelai isn’t the worst person, and the same goes for Rory, but the tension carries on throughout the seasons. For example, Rory gets accepted into a private school while her mom doesn’t have the ability to fund. In that case she creates a compromise with her grandparents; if they financially support Rory then they will have to attend Friday night dinners in return.
Rory Gilmore strives for excellence to get into Harvard to become a journalist, but things take a turn; she goes into Yale. Much of the audience believes that Yale changed her as a person. Rory drops out for a few semesters, doesn’t go to Harvard, and her manner switches up.
About the third or fourth season audiences also recall that Rory creates an “aggravating” manner for her character. Her behavior can branch off of entitlement. She looks down at herself in a first-person point of view that she might be the main character even-but she is?
Lorelai Gilmore’s character knows the atmosphere that the directors are trying to produce. She puts on the act and knows what the plot should turn out like.
Starring as one of the main characters doesn’t revolve around the fact that the show is ABOUT YOU! Don’t get it twisted. The show is amazing but the characters’ behavior can alter the emotions of the show itself.
