Bellwood-Antis teacher Mr. Jake McCaulley believes a high-quality education is necessary for our society to function.
That’s why Mr. McCaulley went back to college to become a teacher.
“I hope to play a role in that,” he said.
Mr. McCaulley, who graduated from B-A in 2016, is the BluePrint’s latest Feature Teacher.
While at B-A, Mr. McCaulley was a top athlete, playing football, basketball, and track and field at different points in his high school career. He is currently teaching history with Mrs. Amber Auberzinski.
Student teaching is something every aspiring teacher during college. Mr. McCaulley graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelors degree in history, but is now attending Eastern University to get his teaching certificate. He wants to become a high school history teacher when he gets his certificate.
From this experience so far, he is enjoying the job very much, and, he says, it has been good to be back at Bellwood, which is what makes him hope to better himself as an educator and to learn new and exiting methods of teaching.
Mrs. Auberzinski, says, “Being a Bellwood alumnus, I think he’s fitting in very well and doing a great job.”
This is a great thing for him to hear knowing he wants to fit in and coming from a fellow graduate who also came back to B-A to teach.
