Right before thanksgiving break, Bellwood-Antis hosted the Blair County chorus festival, with 13 B-A students attending.
It was a large amount of work, but according to music teacher Mr. David Logue is was impressive to see talented students from all over the county working together to create some awesome music.
“From the students’ end, they all had two wonderful days full of music making, making new friendships and enjoying seeing old friends,” Mr. Logue said.
Mr. Logue said the Bellwood students were leaders amongst the whole group, fielding any questions that they could answer to other students in a new school.
Those attending from B-A included:
Alyssa Briggs
Alaina Johnson
Morgan Keinzle
Jocelyn Diehl
Alia Bennett
Halee Young
Rachel Gormont
Jacob Caracciolo
Derek Stivers
Eric Johnson
Vance Finamore
Aden McCaulley
Collin Matthews
McCaulley said after adjusting to the atmosphere of county chorus, things went very well.
“My experience at county chorus was actually pretty good. It was very overwhelming out first, but I got used to it, and I had lots of fun,” he said.
Briggs said the social aspect of the event was a plus.
“I got to make new friends and got to see other directors,” she said.
Dr. Marci Major from Millersville University was he guest director.
Bellwood-Antis will host two more Pennsylvania State Music Educator’s Association (PMEA) events this school year: District Band (Jan 22-24) and Middle School County Choir (Feb 11-12).
