On Thursday night, the Lady Blue Devils fell at home to the Bishop Guilfoyle Academy Lady Marauders. The final score of the game was 55-39.
This was a tough game for Bellwood-Antis, with junior point guard Marissa Cacciotti currently injured and unable to play. In her absence, freshman Karlie Sweigert picked up some slack in the scoring load by scoring a career-high 10 points, which led the team in scoring. Junior Lilly Gerwert had nine points.
On the other hand, BG had a great game in this win. Sophomore Anberlyn Petrecca had an impressive 18 points with 10 rebounds. Sophomore Morgan Ruggery dropped 11 points.
The Lady Blue Devils now have a regular season record of 8-8. They remain ranked NO. 4 in the District 6 2A playoff standings.
The Lady Marauders have improved to 13-2.
B-A will play their next game away against Hollidaysburg on Monday night.
“As a team we need to focus on Hollidaysburg’s defensive pressure,” Sweigert said. “If we take care of the ball and limit turnovers we will be fine.”
Their game against Hollidaysburg will start at 7.
