Last night, the Bellwood-Antis girls’ volleyball team triumphed over Tyrone in four sets in their season opener.

Dropping the first set 25-20, they stayed focused and delivered in the next three sets, winning 25-22, 25-10, and 25-16.

Sophie Damiano had fifteen kills and thirteen service points to lead the Lady Devils. “I think losing the first set was good for the team,” said Damiano, “it showed us that we needed to step up and play smart.”

Kamrynn Mercer came in clutch with thirteen blocks and fourteen digs. “It was a great feeling,” Mercer said of the comeback. “We came together as a team and knew what we wanted to do. We played hard and never gave up.”

Abby Luensmann dished out thirteen assists and Alexis Parson added twelve service points to secure the victory.

The JV team also scored a victory over the Lady Eagles, defeating them in straight sets, 25-20 and 25-16.
