Athlete of the Week: Zach Taylor
Last Friday the Blue Devils took on the Rockets of Southern Huntingdon.
B-A shot off the field with three touchdowns that night, one of the which was scored by senior Zach Taylor. Taylor also had a fumble recovery.
For his efforts he has been chosen as the Blueprints athlete of the week.
Blueprint: How did you get involved with football?
Taylor: I started playing in the Bellwood-Antis Youth Football League when I was 7. I played for the Southside Vikings.
Blueprint: What position do you play?
Taylor: Tight end and outside linebacker.
Blueprint: How do you feel about the rough start to this season?
Taylor: We had a lot of young guys getting their first varsity game action. It just took a little bit for us to build some chemistry together and get up to game speed.
Blueprint: How do you prepare to keep your season like last Friday – a win over a good team?
Taylor: We have a 5 game winning streak going. The attitude in the locker room has changed drastically. We have a lot of confidence right now and it’s important for us to build on that.
Blueprint: What advice do you have for younger players?
Taylor: Make sure your teammates can rely on you. Do your job every play and don’t take any plays off.
Blueprint: Do you plan to play football after high school?
Taylor: No, my future plans are to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.
