Claar wins again, but grapplers lose big

Nate Claar won again, pinning his Mount Union foe in 4:33.

Last night, the wrestling team travelled to Mount Union to take on the Trojans.
Bellwood got their sole 6 points on a pin by Nate Claar. The season has been a struggle for the Blue Devils who have not won a match yet this season.
The lone bright spot for the Devils’ is the name listed above, Nate Claar.
He admits that the teams’ season has been disappointing but believes they can turn it around. “If we fix a few mistakes, we have the ability to win. With all of the forfeits, however, it becomes very difficult to do so,” said Nate.
But at the end of it, I want to be standing on that podium at Hershey.
With all of Bellwood’s struggles, you think it would be hard for Nate to focus on his own personal goals. “I try not to think about this season in a negative way. As a team I know it’s hard to win when we give up so many forfeits, so I hope that the time and effort pays off for me and the guys when we step out on the mat.
Having such an upstanding record, Nate has proven himself as a powerhouse in the district. But he doesn’t want to be just a contender.
“I’ve beaten some tough kids that have made it where I want to be. I try not to look too far ahead and take it one match at a time. I’ve been in every position in the room, so out here it’s just another day.
