Mrs. Carson, the Bellwood-Antis High School autistic support teacher, is having a fundraiser for the students in her class. The fundraiser is to offset the cost for their Carnagie Science Center field trip later this school year.

Mrs. Carson chose Bedford candies for the fundraiser because she is friends with the owner and wanted to get their name out to the public.

Bedford Candies just opened a new location in Altoona.

One of Mrs. Carson’s students, Tyler Long, said, “I think its great!” His favorite item off the form is the caramel peanut butter popcorn. The items available are various types of popcorn, gummies, and homemade fudge.

But if you are wondering how this helps the students, Mrs. Carson said, “The students will learn social skills and will also be out in the community with selling the candies. They will also be part of a fundrasier and be able to interact with the people of the community.”

Mrs. Carson also stated that Carnagie Science Center has a therapeutic atmosphere for the kids. There are water tables and games for the students to enjoy.
