The Big Ban Theory
February 18, 2017
I personally did not care for Trump’s travel ban. I wasn’t entirely for or against it because while it could be seen as discriminatory or an act to protect the country it was bound to blow up. But whether or not I agree with it or not isn’t relevant. I disagree with the judge who pretty much nullified his executive order.
My first thoughts were if there weren’t terrorists in those countries before the ban there definitely were afterwards, but it wouldn’t matter because how could they legally get into America? Well, a judge happened to overturn Trump’s executive order as it was not constitutional.
I’m not saying the ban was a great thing, but if you let immigrants in after they’ve already had this ban pressed against them they’re not going to all be happy people. Trump was, I guess, trying to stop an enemy that hides among the people from these countries.
It was basically like letting everyone know, “Hey, were trying to keep terrorists out, don’t let the terrorists know! I left the key to my house under the welcome mat! My address is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, or The White House. We’re going to ban immigration and put all our eggs into one basket. Geez, I hope no judge overturns this ban and gives these people the key to my house! It’s underneath the welcome mat, it’s the blue one. Okay, I’m going to lock my door now, please don’t give anyone the blue key towards the middle under the mat good judges of America.”
It’s like letting burglars know that you’re going to lock your door, but then someone in your family unlocks the door after you’ve just agitated the burglars. Not every immigrant or Muslim is a “burglar” or trying to destroy America, but if you treat poorly people because of something they might do, or that people of that group have been known to do, well, you make a monster out of man.
