BA HISTORY 101: 1993 football
This month we go back in time 25 years to 1993 when the Bellwood-Antis Boys football team was on its to a typical hot streak.
In the Backyard Brawl against Tyrone, a win of 42-14, senior tailback Comanche Garcia scored three touchdowns on one and five-yard rushes. He also returned a 44 yard interception for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils scored three times in the second quarter to take a 27-0 lead at intermission.
All three scores came from the workhorse Garcia, who finished the night with 81 yards on 14 carries.
Justin McCall took the second half kickoff back 49 yards to the Warrior 25, and Shawn Ross later bulled 10 yards out of his second TD.
The win was B-A’s sixth straight against its rival.
